Promethean Conference In London, (the video!)

Didn't make it to London? Just watch the video to hear "delegates" talk about what a good time they had and everything that you missed!

The video is interviewing participants at the symposium, which is sponsored by Promethean (you can see the prominent Promethean logo in the background of many of the shots).

One of the delegates stated that she "particularly enjoyed the connection with Montgomery County Public Schools" last night.

Again, to repeat my question:

1. Who from Montgomery County Public Schools attended this Promethean-sponsored conference in London as a representative of MCPS?

2. Who paid for airfare, lodging, travel, and meals?

  1. MCPS buys $13M in merchandise via illegal procurement practices, and the person who makes the purchasing decision gets to go to London.

The only bigger crime may be that no one in Montgomery County Government seems to care enough to do something about it.

  2. ...gets to go to London during a budget freeze when long term substitutes are being used in classrooms instead of full-time teachers...

Considering Promethean did the following in AZ, it's not unprecedented:

"The company paid nearly $418,000 for two separate conferences over one long weekend, comping $12,000 in registration fees for TUSD employees. It paid $296,000 in catering, $111,000 in lodging and $33,000 in open bar charges on all four nights of the conference.
At least 10 district employees, including Long, stayed at Starr Pass in rooms paid for by Promethean, even though the employees all live in Tucson."

  5. Does Promethean have any direct competitors, or is this the only product like this out there?
