Council's "Extreme disappointment with Board"

  1. As is so often stated by Ms. Sartucci on this blog...what's a musty old law anyway? Maintenance of Effort is the LAW, and for the third year in a row the County Council wants to disregard the LAW. Why is it some laws are OK to ignore and others aren't Ms. Sartucci?

    I believe you are confusing me with Superintendent Jerry Weast who believes that laws get "old".

    The Maintenance of Effort law does not require that the school system be funded at a certain level with no other alternatives. Rather it imposes a penalty if the required funding is not there. It is still following the law to pay the penalty.
