Gazette: Clarksburg HS students advised not to talk to the press

The Gazette reports that this year's after-prom party at Clarksburg High School has been canceled -- and that students have been told not to talk to the press about the cancellation.

From the Gazette:
Last year, about 140 to 160 students attended Clarksburg's post-prom party, according to Roman.
While that figure may be low compared with the 800 juniors and seniors at Clarksburg, Bashir believes the party was still worthwhile.

"One-hundred-and-sixty kids was 160 kids that were safe and probably had a good time," she said.
Clarksburg graduate Andrew Mulinge, who was the school's Student Government Association president last year, said he does not understand why students said they would not go.

"That beats me, I don't understand the logic behind it," he said. "I had a great time. We had a lot of fun and we all left with something and it was safe."

Current students declined to comment, saying school administrators had advised them not to talk to the press.
