Environmental Literacy

O'Malley says this is "a defining moment for education in Maryland."

Students entering school this Fall should expect to "prove" they are "environmentally literate" to earn a high school diploma. The new requirement comes without "any additional funding, staff or courses". School districts are expected to water down, oops, enhance core curriculum with "lessons on conservation, smart growth and other environmental topics".

A declining moment for education in Maryland?
