Stamford Advocate: Blame game: Starr, teachers' union point fingers over layoffs


STAMFORD -- A day after the city's public schools laid off 12 teachers, Superintendent Joshua Starr said the cuts are due to the teachers' union leadership's "unwillingness to bend" when the district asked to reduce stipends associated with 20 positions.
