Fighting Families, Continued: Starr Permits Higher Legal Fees than Predecessor Weast

Special Education Legal Expenses
Special education legal fees for outside counsel for November 2011 totaled $37,500.

The year-to-date total of $191,012 is $44,362 (30 percent) higher than the same period in the previous fiscal year.
The Jeffrey A. Krew bill for November 2011 totaled $37,160. The bill included work on eight cases, five of which involved administrative hearings ($30,080) and three of which involved an appeal to federal or state court ($7,080).
The Carney Kelehan bill for November 2011 totaled $340 and involved work on one Individualized Education Program.
