PG Senator Douglas J.J. Peters on plastic grass

Prince George's County Senator Douglas J.J. Peters has sponsored legislation to force the Prince George's Board of Education to install plastic football fields at all Prince George's high schools in the next 6 years.  Below is the public statement Senator Peters made regarding his proposed legislation.

Notice that the statement makes no mention of the 120 tons of ground up used tires per field, no mention of the excessive heat that is generated from plastic football fields, no mention of the grading that is required to construct a plastic grass football field, and no mention of the limit of the use of the field under the manufacturers warranty.  Most interesting is that here is a bill that is being proposed for the spending of tax dollars and the bill's sponsor doesn't mention one word about cost.
