Maryland Soccer Still Using RMHS Field...

...so why is Superintendent Joshua Starr asking the Board of Education to allow them to profit from the field this year?

Maryland Soccer's Real Maryland is holding tryouts at the Richard Montgomery High School on March 23rd and 24th.

The original Agreement between the BOE and Maryland Soccer said that Maryland Soccer could not assign the use of the field to anyone else.  Superintendent Starr now wants to break that Agreement and allow Maryland Soccer to profit from the RMHS artificial turf football field by leasing the field to Bethesda Soccer.

Superintendent Starr appears to claim that Maryland Soccer is no longer using the RMHS field in his memo to the BOE.

Why?  Obviously, Maryland Soccer is still using the field. What's going on?

  1. So who is calling the Inspector General on this one? A private entity can't lease a public school field - only CUPF can do that.
Or is this something else Ike will just wink and ignore?
