Talbot County Council approves cell tower legislation - The Star Democrat: News

This is old news in Talbot County, Maryland, but news for us!  In 2009, the Talbot County Council passed legislation restricting where cell tower compounds can be constructed.  Included in that legislation was a prohibition of cell towers within 500 feet of schools.  The legislation also addresses the issue of height of the cell towers in relation to the property line.

...The package also specifically prohibits applicants to receive special exceptions or variances to skirt regulations regarding height limits and setbacks from property lines, schools and playgrounds... 
...Towers will need to be more than 500 feet from parcels containing a public playground, ball field or other school use. They would also need to be set back from the property line a distance of at least the height of the tower plus 10 feet...
