Pay raise recommended for Montgomery County Council

  1. article says "reviewed every four years by an independent committee selected by the council from a pool of civic volunteers." Does not sound right - council chooses the the committee who will choose the volunteers who will decide the committee's raise? 17% is outrageous. does the committe deliver us, the voters, a cost-benefit analysis on at least an annual basis? regular metrics and analytics on improvements an efficiencies? accounting for time spent to earn the high salaries? who is the watchdog?
