Whitman HS Parents Can Pay for Classroom Teachers

Interesting.
Since when can MCPS parents pay for classroom teachers?  That's news.

For the "volunteers or nonprofit staff members" who is doing the background check on these adults that will be given full access to public school students? (See recent issues with MCPS teachers who were arrested for alleged sexual abuse of students.)

The nonprofit group is using volunteers or staff members paid through philanthropic contributions. If the program is extended, Principal Goodwin said, parents’ donations will cover the estimated cost of $4,000 to $5,000.
