Breaking News: Mont. Co. Teacher Charged with Abusing Student Has Fled Country

Montgomery County police say that a teacher charged with abuse of a student has fled the country.
According to police, their investigation began on November 11 when the Montgomery County Police – Family Crimes Division’s Child Abuse/Sexual Assault Section initiated an investigation into the sexual assault of a 15-year-old autistic child by his teacher at The Frost School in Wheaton.
Police said Yee Tak Sharon Kui, age 25, of the 100 block of Pasture Side Place in Rockville, was a teacher at The Frost School.
The Frost School is a private special education school which serves children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and related special needs. According to police, the investigation revealed that twice in November, while the victim’s parents were out of the house, the defendant went to the victim’s residence in Silver Spring and engaged the victim in illegal sexual contact.
Police said an arrest warrant was obtained charging Kui with two counts of Third Degree Sex Offense, Sex Abuse of a Minor and Sexual Solicitation of a Minor.
Further investigation conducted with the United States Department of Homeland Security has revealed that the defendant has fled to Hong Kong to avoid prosecution, police said.
Police said more details would be shared at a news conference on Dec. 3 at Public Safety Headquarters.
