Why is Walter Johnson HS Artificial Turf Shredding? #defective #artificialturf

Pictures were taken of the Walter Johnson High School artificial turf field on May 3, 2014.
Piles and piles of shredded plastic grass were evident on the field. The plastic grass fibers are shredding.
Just like was detailed in the FieldTurf v. TenCate lawsuit.

Plastic fibers in piles on WJHS artificial turf field.

  1. Here is the list of all the other suckers in MD, PA, WV who avoided a proper bid process and bought the defective Fieldturf "Duraspine" product through the KPN co-op purchasing program:

I wonder how many of these are also failing prematurely?? Guess it wasn't such a "Smart Buy" after all...

  2. But how old was the field when these pictures were taken? when was it installed?

    1. 3 1/2 years old.

The field was failing after just 3 1/2 years. Well within the warranty period.

And MCPS did nothing to have the field replaced, which means MCPS administrators were more than happy to put the safety of public school children at risk by leaving a defective field in use.

That's what we in Montgomery County call "WORLD CLASS."
