Yes and No from Wootton High School students:

  1. "Although a plethora of educational opportunities would open up for students if they use their devices the way the administration intends, asking students to stay solely on educational platforms while on their smartphones is unrealistic."

This line made me chuckle. Replace "students" with "central office leadership" and this statement is just as valid.

  2. My child is a Wootoon student. If it's unrestricted Internet access... Bad idea. My son and most high school students would find Internet access with smart phones, tablets and laptops to be a huge distraction (Facebook and God knows what else). If it's possible to greatly limit access to all but select educational sites... maybe. If the courts could rule that limiting access is a violation of free speech... then let's keep this genie in the bottle.
