  1. Guess we all missed the press conference from the Board of Education members regarding any of the dozen of arrests of MCPS staff over the last 3 years. In fact, we have missed the Board of Education ever mentioning a single word about this issue!
The Board of Education Child Abuse policy remains 26 YEARS out of date. Clearly this topic is not a priority for the Montgomery County Board of Education.

  2. How is this going to help flush out those who have not been caught yet?

    1. Actually that is exactly what this does. The Police are starting to take these cases seriously. That gives other victims the support to come forward.
No one wants to come forward when they are in a society that dismisses their reports.

    2. I believe that we need a proactive effort rather than of a reactionary response.

  3. I couldn't agree MORE with what you are both saying. There are a LOT of layers to this bad onion and once someone digs deeply, they are going to find many, MANY more problems than MCPS' administrators can deal with (because they haven't dealt with any of them yet). I hope the police department thoroughly investigates ANY and ALL allegations of improper behavior between MCPS adults and children and finds those who need to be brought to justice. I too am so SICK of this victim-mentality -- it needs to shift to a prevention-mentality pretty quickly.
