At last night's Board of Education Operating Budget hearing, board member Patricia O'Neill ended the evening by telling parents that they should tell the Montgomery County Council to raise their taxes.

  1. Is she implying that she deserves a raise?

  3. Where's all that money that MD politicians promised would pour in by allowing Casinos in Maryland? And I have no doubt that when taxes are raised all of the new taxes will go to education and school construction... Hey, how would you like to buy a bridge?

  4. Members of th Board having been doing this for decades. The responsibility is not on parents to provide additional funds and inappropriate for BOE to direct parents to ask for tax increases. The BOE should work with the Council and State to secure the funding that is needed, not wanted. There is a difference.
