Coming this April, Healthy School Food Maryland’s big event, the “Salad Bar Summit,” will be held in Rockville at the Universities at Shady Grove. The Summit’s goal is to help stakeholders envision the possibility of more public schools offering salad bars and to train them in best practices.
Our keynote speaker will be Rodney Taylor, nationally-known salad bar expert, former Director of
Nutrition Services for the Riverside Unified School District in California and current Director of the Office of Food and Nutrition Services in the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. Healthy School Food Maryland (HSFMD) has invited school board members, food and nutrition services directors, principals, cafeteria managers, farmers, teachers, parents, students and non-profit stakeholders from public school systems in Baltimore City, and Baltimore, Frederick, Carroll, Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties to take part in the full summit.
