Former teacher sentenced to 90 days in decades-old Maryland sex abuse case

A former high school teacher, coach and athletic director in Montgomery County was sentenced to 90 days in jail this week after pleading guilty in a child sex abuse case dating back three decades.

  4. The public prosecutor deemed the case actionable, thirty-five years after the fact, only when the accused former public school teacher became a staff member of a private institution. This raises questions whether the sound discretion is arbitrary or fair and equitable under each circumstance.
