The damage to this field would...Not absurd at all. The damage to this field would have been in the order of $50,000. That's Bermuda grass on the Wootton stadium field. 3,000 students tromping around on the field would have done permanent damage to that county asset. That's why MCPS football fields aren't available for rent, by anyone. The cost to repair them is not on MCPS' priority list.
