Late last week, state Senator Richard Madaleno (D-Dist. 18) of Kensington, introduced a bill that would remove a Montgomery County municipality's authority to deny a county school construction project.   1. And I'm sure it's just accidental that Mr. Weast just announced Rockville is in line to get a new school - jumping over needier areas who cant even get on the list. For heven's sake, one rockville school has two whole portables and is crying about it.

  2. @7:52 - A little math challenged?

    If you read the article you would have learned that RM's 4 feeder schools have a combined 19 classroom trailers. One elementary, Beall, has 8 classroom trailers.

    So do you work for MCPS 7:52?

  3. Does the city of Rockville know that MCPS wants to "supersize" Maryvale ES and combine it with Carl Sandburg LC? (Don't know yet what the Carl Sandburg families think of this plan Does the city of Rockville have representation at the Roundtable, or workgroup, or whatever it is called?
    At the Special Ed Advisory Committee last month, the MCPS official who brought you the Longview-Matsunaga school (that has now, what, 15 portables????) "assured" those in attendence that such a planning error is not possible in the Maryvale area. Yeah. Right.
