The bill that was passed tells developers they don't have to pay taxes until their projects are completed -- an early just-before-elections present to the developers that will be funding the council and county exec. campaigns. Did your council member vote for this bill? time to check. time to pay attention. When regular citizens don't pay taxes on time they pay a penalty and interest. Will the developers have to pay interest?
ReplyDeleteGoing to be interesting to see who runs for County Exec. Guessing Phil Andrews is going to do it. He's been aligning himself to make a run. Betting Nancy Floreen might as well. She's the queen of development. Phil vs. Nancy would be interesting. Mr slow growth vs. Ms. pave everything. The wild card is Valerie Ervin. She clearly has an interest in a career in politics. Nancy/Phil/Valerie would be an interesting primary to watch.
