Wootton's Plastic Grass wasn't enough for some football players

...Worst hit was Wootton, where Spinner coached before resigning in January for reasons he and the school would not disclose. The resignation was “not by choice,” he told The Post at the time.
Six Wootton players have followed Spinner to Avalon, led by four-star recruit Trevon Diggs, brother of Maryland standout Stefon Diggs. Trevon is a rising junior with offers to play football from Florida State, Maryland and Penn State, among other top schools...

  1. Wootton's principal, Dr. Doran, would like the entire football team to go away. Football takes away from Wootton's academics!

  2. If you truly don't know why Spinner was fired then you aren't doing your "job".

  3. "Plastic grass" is the future and the new standard, your personal crusade against our progress notwithstanding!

And the same players that went to Wootton for Spinner left Wootton for Spinner so the "plastic grass" had nothing to do with it!

    1. Sorry, plastic grass is not the new standard.

  4. Great comparison... not! That field will get used significantly less than an MCPS field and is never available for community use. Moreover, that's a business that plans for, budgets for, and charges their consumers a premium to provide the best resources and facilities for their employees to prepare to entertain their fans. MCPS has no room in its budget to offer that benefit to its field users. You propose natural grass so we can play on poorer quality fields and use them significantly less... That's not progress.

Sorry, new multi-purpose high use fields are no longer natural grass...

    1. Where have we proposed any such thing? MCPS has TONS of room in its budget for excellent natural grass fields. Where are you getting such bad information?

By the way, MCPS' "business plan" for plastic grass fields is a phenomenal failure and the current plastic grass fields are failing prematurely. When schools are left with unusable plastic football fields that will be progress? Not hardly.
