Breaking: 4 Cell Towers Going Up TODAY to Beat State BOE Opinion that will Slam Boards of Ed for Deal that Violates Education Code

8/6/2015 Annapolis Middle School
Here is what it looks like when Boards of Educations hate public school children.

Parents in 4 communities have all OPPOSED the construction of cell towers on their public school playgrounds.
In one community, the parents appealed the decision to build a cell tower on their local school to the Maryland State Board of Education.  And guess what? The parents have a very good chance of winning their appeal.

What should a Board of Education that hates public school children do when they are about to lose?
Put up those controversial cell towers as fast as possible. And that is exactly what is going on in Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties today.  Fast paced construction is putting up 4 cell towers on public school playgrounds.

Here is what the Administrative Law Judge who heard this case decided:

PROPOSED ORDER

IT IS PROPOSED that the State Board order that the Local Board's agreement to lease school property for the purpose of construction a cell tower (or cell towers) as memorialized in the Master Agreement is not consistent with its trust obligations under section 4-114(a)(1) of the Education Article.

The Administrative Law Judge's complete April 21, 2015, Proposed Decision is available at the link below.

Click on this link for the construction that is also ongoing at Magothy River Middle School.  We have also been informed that construction is commencing at Benjamin Tasker Middle School in Prince George's County and at Corkran Middle School in Anne Arundel County, in addition to Annapolis Middle School shown in the image above.

  2. The past two AACPS Comprehensive Financial Reports show no cell tower revenue, at all. Odd; Milestone’s been erecting towers at AACPS sites in 2013. It's puzzling, why the AA-BOE is so eager to build more of these while elephants.

    1. Campaign contributions to key elected officials. MD is a Pay to Play State. You pay the right people, you get whatever you want.

Classic example of an elected officials completely selling out his constituents for his own personal gain. His constituents were completely opposed to cell towers going up on public school playgrounds, especially at Flowers High School. So what happened? He took the cash from the cell tower company and the first cell tower he put up was at Flowers High School. Talk about in your face hostility to parents.
