Wow! That's a switch!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov/Pages/FAQ.aspx
It's election time!
DeleteNuts! And I thought that he had an epiphany:
Deletehttp://www.gazette.net/gazettecms/story.php?id=42967
He was born and grew up in the affluent suburbia
DeleteHe did earn his degree from prestigious Columbia
He rose through the ranks via the act of election
But, with writing he does lack the art of selection.
"We have been through this area of law a dozen times," Frosh said. "We don't have it right yet. We probably have some predators we aren't getting and some people in love that we are making predators of."
DeleteSounds like a wild goose chase to me:
ReplyDelete“. . . In some cases we may also refer the information to the local State's Attorney where the abuse occurred. “
“. . .In Maryland, State's Attorneys are independently elected officials and do not come under the authority or supervision of the Attorney General. The decision to prosecute a criminal case or not, lies within the sound discretion of the State's Attorney.”

I emailed the MAG office,report@oag.state.md.us, asking for an impartial opinion on MD Article 3-602.
ReplyDeleteMe: I was curious if this reported abuse falls within the scope of your ongoing investigation: http://www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov/Pages/Reporting.aspx
DeleteA: Was this a public school?
Me: https://www.montgomerycollege.edu/
A: Unfortunately, your daughter’s abuse doesn’t fall into our scope. I’m sorry.
Me: So, your scope is limited to Catholic parochial schools and churches?
A: A little more but does not include teachers in public colleges
Me: So, do I have any other recourse to counteract the arbitrary legal technicality that was opined by the SA's office?
A: I would seek the advice of your attorney. I’m sorry I can’t be of more assistance.
Me: Thank you. You have confirmed my suspicions that we have a 'cafeteria justice' system.
A:
"We will be in touch with you, although we will not be able to comment or provide any information regarding an investigation." !!!

Delete“I can tell you, no prosecutor is going to pick up this case. There’s too much to do out there to pick up a case where a teacher’s maybe exploiting a child. I mean, that—the law enforcement went very far and investigated it, but these are the kinds of cases that don’t get prosecuted. So, the only record of them, frequently, is the local department’s ability to maintain its files.”

ReplyDeleteHeaven can wait. . .it has been overshadowed by proper protocol procedures.
Please note: The scope of this criminal investigation DOES NOT include public schools.

ReplyDelete"In addition to the investigations underway by attorneys general in at least 15 states, several legislatures have approved statute-of-limitation revisions this year giving victims of long-ago child sex-abuse new windows for litigation against the Catholic church, the Boy Scouts and other institutions."

ReplyDeleteHas expanded to fill the allotted time
It was triggered by a reelection fervor
But has morphed into a casual pastime.
Has the fervor simmered down and the investigation placed on the back burner?
