Breaking: Mont. Co. Board of Education President Brenda Wolff, "...I have been very concerned about where we locate these cell towers. Particularly that they not be all located in minority neighborhood schools, so I'm really questioning the use of them being by any schools."

At the May 11, 2021, Montgomery County Board of Education meeting, Board of Education President Brenda Wolff made the following statement with regard to a proposal to move the cell tower at the Woodward High School site.  The proposal had been removed from the Board of Education's Agenda moments before the scheduled vote, but nonetheless Board President Wolff took the opportunity to state her position.

President Wolff mentions that in Montgomery County Public Schools cell towers have been primarily located at minority neighborhood schools. [That information comes from a Parents' Coalition investigation in 2015. The ABC7 news story covering that data is posted below.]

"I just want to say, you know I have been very concerned about where we locate these cell towers. Particularly that they not be all located in minority neighborhood schools, so I'm really questioning the use of them being by any schools."
