Struggling students need not apply

Who represents students on the MCPS Board of Education?

Only the elite.

So if you are a student who is struggling in school, has learning challenges that impact your grades, or isn't part of the countywide student government you need not apply. If you can't "jump through hoops" don't bother trying to be an advocate for students on the MCPS Board of Education.
Students who run for the board are thoroughly vetted by student nominating committees, said Kaiser (D-Dist. 14) of Burtonsville.
"By the time they are on the school board, they have had to jump through so many hoops and other things," she said.

Too bad for the students that don't have the right GPA and haven't jumped through all the "hoops". Your voice won't be heard as a student representative.

What "hoops" do the adult candidates for Board of Education have to "jump" through?
