MCPS will brief the Board regarding Curriculum 2.0 implementation on Tuesday, November 8 at 11:00 am. Superintendent Starr has provided a memo as background for that briefing.
It is interesting how tightly MCPS clings to its ideology. Despite vigorous dissent by many parents, MCPS still insists that "a very small number of students may still need to advance a grade level in mathematics in order to receive sufficient challenge". Very small. All other students must fit into one size of instruction. But MCPS will differentiate, as if that has a track record of success. I fail to see anything useful here - just more happy talk.
