Joshua Starr is Charging Edison HS Students for Textbooks!

Take a look at the incredible fees that Superintendent Joshua Starr is charging students to attend Edison High School!  No wonder enrollment is down at this school!  

Note to students and families: Textbook charges are ILLEGAL under the Maryland Constitution.  Just say no!  
Fees connected with the curriculum of a class are ILLEGAL! Just say no!

  1. It's all good. All the children have to do is sign up for their 'mindfulness' course and learn to destress about such things. What's that you say? Oh, it's only for the "overstressed, overworked, college-obsessed students" at Walt Whitman in Bethesda - because only those in THAT town need such a course - and their parents will pay for it.

  2. How often does Edison collect full fees? How often not? How many students are turned away because they couldn't pay? What do other vocational schools charge for similar programs (oh, there are no other schools like Edison! I forgot)? Or other high schools for the same programs?

    "No wonder enrollment is down." Um, because of fees? Really? Says who?

    1. Curricular fees are illegal in Maryland under our Constitution. Parents have complained to the Parents' Coalition that they will not enroll their child in Edison because of the curricular fees.
