ROCKVILLE, Md. (WJLA) - A seven-figure payout—that's what a teenage girl, sexually solicited by her high school history teacher, says she deserves.
She and her family are now suing Montgomery County
Public Schools, its Board of Education, and that former teacher, Richard
Shemer, 50, of Potomac, for $3 million, plus attorney’s fees.
The girl's parents say they wiped out their savings and retirement
accounts, while attempting to provide their daughter with daily
counseling and therapy. Before asking close friends for loans, the
girl's parents turned to MCPS for financial assistance, but claim
administrators told them to pound sand."It's something that angers me, but also makes me physically sick," Estrada told ABC 7 News during an exclusive interview. "That is the only way to put it."
Last October, Montgomery County Police arrested Shemer after Estrada intercepted dozens of sexually-laced emails between him and her daughter.
In one case, Shemer emailed the then 16-year-old high schooler saying: "Now take a picture of your [expletive] and send it to me."
Great video of him trying to run away from the reporter. Why is it that the women who do this get press time and one station covers these men in Montgomery county? He offered her drugs as if trying to have sex with a 15 year old isn't bad enough. For those of you that say she is 16 read the original article he started this the year before when she was 14 or 15. He should still be in jail!
ReplyDeleteI think that you're preaching to the choir. However, voting is coming up on November 4th.
DeleteWhere are all the supporters his lawyer said he had at trial? What a great guy , teacher, coach? He is s predator he uses his position to prey on women. To think he has a daughter the same age as his victims. What other information will come out. I agree with the first post do some police work Mongomery County!
