It is easy to get confused by numbers so please educate yourself.

Do these numbers meet US regulations? Yes.. but those regulations are 18 years old, did not consider children and oh by the way.... several countries understand that the US regulations do not protect public health---- so they have set numbers thousands of times lower than the United States.
These radiation numbers at Wheaton high school are not " low" but please be ready for the school system to state that they are.
I recommend parents ask for the scientific documentation that shows that 5000 microwatts is "safe".
I wonder if parents can have their children transfer schools? At least they should allow this.

Who gives about the radiation outside of the school, and duh, if you measure radiation near a cell tower, it's going to be higher than normal. What the author of the video should have done is measure the radiation levels inside the school, where 99% of students will be spending the majority of their time in during the school day.

DeleteDuh, like you think MCPS is ever going to give a about the radiation inside the school? Teachers? Students? Staff? They are all replaceable.
Why would MCPS give someone with a meter access to the interior of Wheaton High School to check the radiation levels inside the windows next to this cell tower?
The perks from the cell tower vendors are way more important than anyone inside the building.
fyi- MCPS is refusing to allow parents who nicely ask to measure the radiation inside the building- to measure. Ask the http://safetechforschoolsmaryland.blogspot.com parents about that.

ReplyDeleteThe kids with windows facing the towers will get a higher dose than kids in the interior of the building. Kids should not be on the patio.
They are all replaceable.

Deleteso wrong what we are doing to our children. cells towers on campus - industrial strength wifi in the classroom blanketing kids all day - essentially a mini-cell tower in the classroom. no one can say what the safe level is for children - but we do know at very low levels cells are affected and put in oxidative stress which can lead to disease, cancer, and other health issues. why are we not fighting for the health and future of our children? why are we letting the schools decide how much radiation our kids will receive and have power and control over the health and future of our children - how have we gotten to the point that our children are sent to school to be essentially lab rats?
