Elementary Education. Dr. Brenner explained 

the interview process and the administration’s 

recommendation to appoint Dr. Brenda Lewis as 

the assistant superintendent of elementary 

education.

It was moved by Carpenter and seconded by 

Hassett to appoint Dr. Brenda Lewis as the 

Assistant Superintendent of Elementary 

Education at a salary of $159,000 effective July 1, 

2021. Shabb explained that she could not 

support the replacement of this administrative 

position in light of the district’s current financial 

situation and the recent cut of the Artist in the 

Classroom program. Motion carried on roll call 

vote as follows: Aye: Carpenter, Douthit, Hassett, 

Lunn, Manley, Mikula, Palmiscno, and Flynn. Nay:
