Silver Spring Man Sentenced To More Than 15 Years For Child Pornography Possession

...In February 2019, monitoring software on Tagore’s computer alerted the United States Probation Office that he was searching for images of “naked/nude/preteen” children on his computer, although he at first denied any knowledge of his computer being used that way, and then finally admitting to viewing the material, according to the plea agreement.

On April 16, 2019, Tagore used a computer at a library in Montgomery County to view nude images of children, Montgomery County Police told U.S. Probation officials. This was in violation of the rules of Tagore’s sex offender treatment program. Tagore also did not notify probation officials of the questioning from Montgomery County Police...

...This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by the United States Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims. Maryland mom fighting to create tougher laws against child sex predators

A Maryland mom is back at it in Annapolis at the State House next week working to create tougher penalties for child sex abusers.

Annie Kenny is fighting to pass the Sex Offender - Lifetime Supervision bill.

The bill would mandate that anyone convicted of sexually abusing a minor in the State of Maryland, which makes them a Tier III Registered Sex Offender for life, would also place them on probation for life, instead of just the current 5-year probationary period.

Two years ago Kenny began her crusade with a change.org petition that people can still sign to support her efforts at #Savethechildren Better Sex Offender Laws to Protect our Children

Frosh seeks justices’ help in placing offender on sex registry

Maryland’s attorney general is urging the U.S. Supreme Court to review and overturn the state high court’s decision that being placed on the sex offender registry is “punishment” that a judge must order and not a mere listing of offenders that an agency compiles to alert the public to potential sexual predators.

In papers recently filed with the justices, Brian E. Frosh said the Maryland Court of Appeals’ erroneous ruling struck down a state agency’s valid determination that a convicted human trafficker must register because his victim was a child.

Because registration is administrative and not punitive, the agency’s ordered registration was constitutionally permissible, Frosh added in the state’s request for Supreme Court review...

Maryland mom discovers vital info vanishes from Sex Offender Registry

Over the past several weeks if you looked at the Maryland Sex Offender Registry you might have missed something.
It’s here where anyone can find the details of men and women who have preyed on children. Several weeks ago, Annie Kenny, a mom raising her kids in Maryland, noticed something very odd when she landed on this website.
“Recently when I checked the website what I found was that although there was a space for scars and tattoos the information was listed as unavailable and there was no spot at all any more for work addresses or vehicle information,” says Annie Kenny...
