"We can't go any deeper." Translation: We will never cut our travel & dinners!

"Our hope is to avoid layoffs or a significant number of layoffs," Tofig said. "We understand the difficult position that the county is in, but the money clearly isn't here. We can't go any deeper."

Registration information for Superintendent Weast's Denver get away this month is here.   Add in travel, hotel, meals and ground transportation for the total cost to taxpayers of this little jaunt in the middle of the county's financial melt down.

  1. Before going hog-wild over the magnets, let's take a look at how Parkland, Argyle, and Loiderman have been serving their special education students.

How does Loiderman explain the 20% profiency on the 8th grade MSA science among students with disabilities?

How does Parkland explain the 15% percent proficiency rate among 6th grade math students who took the MOD-MSA?

How does Argyle MS explain the 25% percent proficiency rate amongh 8th graders who took the MOD-MSA in Math?

  2. The Parents' Coalition blog would welcome Superintendent Jerry Weast's expense logs for this trip. We would be happy to make them public so that Montgomery County taxpayers can see how much this trip cost taxpayers and how the time away from MCPS was categorized.
