Here’s one more case where the County/School System is discussing a strategy to improve without stopping to ask its “consumers” what’s wrong? The researchers should have surveyed the students and their parents to get a clearer picture of what kids are currently doing for meals and snacks. If they are not choosing school lunches and other preferred foods then the researchers should have asked them why not. I suspect that even with a new strategy many students, especially busy high schoolers, will continue to choose speed and convenience over quality. BTW: On most school days my kid, like so many others, skips the very long cafeteria lines and gets both speed and quality by bringing a lunch from home.
ReplyDeleteMost high schools have 1 lunch for 1,900 students. What cafeteria could handle that many students at once?
