FYI, not everyone who works at CESC is an administrator. Many are supporting services. What's wrong with the MCCPTA showing appreciation for their hard work just as school PTA's show appreciation for the staff at schools?
Dear Parents, Please join your local PTA so that MCCPTA can give ice cream to the MCPS staff that work at administration. They get a salary, you pay them through your taxes. But that isn't enough. They need ice cream, too.
Maybe it was a thoughtfully planned opportunity to advocate about issues that concern us parents - like C2.0, final exam failure rates, school starting times, school crowding, smaller class sizes, promethean boards, school boundaries, the discrepancy in AP results, the lack of school counselors, school police officers, etc. Nah, guess not.
Why would MCCPTA need to bribe administrators with ice cream? They sit at the secret budget meetings. They are a budget partner. This was just a thank you for all the back room dealings that cut parents out.

Did some administrators enjoy some ice cream? Probably. Did support staff also enjoy ice cream? Probably. I find it laughable that this blog sees a conspiracy in just about everything MCPS does.

Keep pretending like Carver is full of supporting services. Talk about a joke! Carver is wall to wall administrators.
We are still waiting for the dollar amount of PTA dues - paid for by unknowing parents - that went to this party for Administrators. You seem to be having a problem with coughing up that dollar amount.
The amount spent here is a drop in the bucket compared to the thousands of dollars in fines MCCPTA paid because of not filing financial requirements in a timely manner. Did they tell membership that? Oops, guess they forgot, too busy partying and appearing on TV shows.
Good to know where PTA dues payments go - ice cream for MCPS administrators.
