As an elected official is it ethical for Councilmember Hans Riemer to attempt to use the power of his position to silence citizens?
From Facebook September 11, 2013:
Hans Riemer First I am drafting a bill that makes it a civil violation to lurk on someones facebook page and comment on every post that they make!
Might have to ask our elected public official here what the Constitutional issues might be here?
ReplyDeleteDidn't he swear an oath to protect the Constitution?
Maybe he should stop using Facebook to promote his own politics and candidacy if he doesn't like hearing the feedback of others.

ReplyDeleteHow about a bill against someone posting what they are doing/thinking on the hour and half-hour.
ReplyDeleteHow about a bill stating that council members should not be going to Communist China to get ideas on how to start businesses (pay off the Party leaders), handle the labor force (lock them up in dormitories and force them to work as many hours as Apple wants them to), and implement environmental regulations (ignore, or just don't have any). Riemer, Berliner, Leggett and Starr and MCPS staff have nothing to learn from the corrupt closed society that is Communist China. They should not be going.
ReplyDeleteSo Riemer is the original inventor of 'Faceblock?' I thought that was George Michael Bluth. My mistake. Or, error, as they say in China.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a good thing that Riemer is not attempting to draft a bill, making it a civil violation to comment on blogs like this one. That really would be a problem for me, because I leave a lot of commentsm.s.mlxd#ws%jqao*jsfouu& let go of me! Kjannhkyyiasyh98eyieuqhkjb Why are you putting handcuffs on me?
