 Youth Bookmark Contest: We are accepting entries for our 5th annual bookmark contest through Saturday, 5/17. Please share the following post and attached entry form across your networks:

Calling all young artists and book lovers! First Book – Montgomery County invites local children to design an original bookmark that celebrates their love of reading. The winning design will become an official bookmark of First Book – Montgomery County. Bookmarks will be distributed at events throughout the upcoming year.

Students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade are encouraged to participate. Awards will be presented in each age group (Pre-K/Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, and Grades 7-8) and one grand-prize winner will also receive a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

First Book – Montgomery County Seeks New Recipient Groups
First Book - Montgomery Country has launched a new campaign to receive a truckload of books! If we meet the challenge, a truckload of 40,000 brand new free books will be sent to Montgomery County and made available to participating programs/agencies. In order to receive the truck, we must register 300 *new* Title I classrooms and literacy programs serving low-income families, military families, or children with special needs by June 15, 2014. Programs and classrooms who are already registered with First Book will not count towards the total but will be eligible to receive books when the truck arrives.
