Gazette: Despite objections, Rockville commission OKs storage facility
...Critics also argued that it would create a risk to the students at Maryvale, through increased traffic from customers or potential criminal activity by people storing items at the facility...
Translation: No one should ever object to what Mr. Dalrymple wants to do. There is no point in public discussion or debate.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sell during school hours, and they're pretty scrupulous about carding (and the beer is good, the people are nice, AND I'm happy to support a locally-owned business). Disclosure: we donated to their Kickstarter campaign to upgrade the facility. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd be more concerned about other industrial chemicals near the school than I'd be about a nano-brewery; the warehouse that burned down in April is adjacent to the playground, and on the first day of school this year as we waited on that playground for the teachers to greet the students, there was a VERY strong odor of what smelled like paint. If nothing else, it does bring to the fore the need to be concerned about what's going on around our neighborhood schools.
