Saving Cursive: New Tools in the Fight for Handwriting
- Date: Thursday, June 25, 2015
- Time: 1:00 pm
- Location: William G. McGowan Theater, Washington, DC
Linda Shrewsbury, creator and president of CursiveLogic, comes to the handwriting debate with a tool to teach cursive in a fraction of the time it’s previously taken. She will demonstrate her intuitive approach for teaching cursive handwriting. Consider this event one step towards preserving cursive for the next generation.
This program is presented by the National Archives in partnership with Fahrney’s Pens.

Cursive is dead, just like Scottish Gaelic and Latin. Funeral services will occur at 850 Hungerford Dr. Please direct gifts to the MCBRE.
ReplyDeleteThank you for including the link to the Saving Cursive event. I have signed up. Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteWhen my son was at Bradley Hill Elementary, I was told by the then-principal Sandy Reese that she didn't think cursive was important because it was a rote skill. I told her she didn't think it was important because the kids she is supposed to serve and make sure they learn basic skills before they hit middle school didn't have to sign her paycheck.
ReplyDeleteIt's a sad commentary. MCPS won't be able to write in their own handwriting nor will they be able to read anyone else's.
