A group of local residents and civic leaders wants County Executive
Ike Leggett to step up the county’s efforts to solve school
overcrowding.
The Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board, members of which are appointed by Leggett, wrote a letter to the county executive with school capacity as its top issue.
Leggett will release his recommended six-year Capital Improvements Program (CIP) in January.
The advisory board asked Leggett to include an addition to Walter
Johnson High School in the CIP. Montgomery County Public Schools has
hired an architect for a feasibility study on the addition, which is supposed to be done in time to be considered for the CIP...
