There's a lot more going on here... The truth is: For decades, developers have wanted to get their hands on Tobytown. Tobytown's 16 acres ON the Potomac River in Potomac MD is worth many millions. All the developer needs to do is push out the current residents. One good way to do this is to deny them basic County services such as public transportation. It is Montgomery County Councilmembers such as George Leventhal, Nancy Floreen and Hans Riemer, who are to blame for this eco-racism. They take 60% to 80% of their campaign funds from developers, some of which are vying for this piece of prime real estate.
Priorities.
ReplyDeleteIn the post immediately before this one you see Montgomery County elected officials pushing for $100,000 for a PRIVATE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND.
The Tobytown bus needs the EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY, yet for decades that funding has been DENIED.
Wealthy private school gets government funding (over and over and over).
Low income minority community does not.
