A harebrained idea to cut costs by eliminating mowing and watering.
ReplyDeleteWhich it did not do. These fields were supposed to last 20 years. This one only lasted 7.5.
DeleteAnd, how much is Montgomery County Parks paying to replace the field? FieldTurf does not replace fields for free, even when they are under warranty.
Imagine a procurement this large, with ZERO public notice or input. How many local governments spend public dollars like this?
The prior field is less than eight years old, so hopefully this replacement is cost-deferred to some degree under the old field's warranty.
ReplyDeleteThe field failed. That has been documented. If the field failed under warranty, then the replacement is free. So why won't the Parks department produce the procurement documents to show how this million dollar item is being replaced?
DeleteIsn't Montgomery County government transparent in their purchasing decisions?
