During Tuesday’s meeting, board members also took action to temper some of the changes that Smith had recommended for central services. Smith has advocated for an MCPS reorganization designed to put resources and staff closer to the classroom.
“Every single dollar we spend in this building [MCPS Headquarters at 850 Hungerford Ave.] is not spent in schools,” Smith said during the meeting at the MCPS central services building in Rockville.
So how many dollars is that, exactly, Mr. Smith?
ReplyDeleteWhy, that would require knowledge of topology.
DeleteSmith sounds so stupid with those statements. Like his famous, "some, not all students are learning" and the dumber "all means all." Maybe down in tiny Calvert county you don't need a central office. However, a mega district like MCPS needs a fully staffed central office. Also, check the number of people Jack has supporting him: 2 paid consultants, chief of staff (who needs a supervisor for some reason).
ReplyDeleteThe BOE needs to cut the bloat in central office. Central office bloat, thy name is Jack Smith!
