Sabrina Khan-Williams, a Tilden MS ("No Place for Hate") teacher posts horrific antisemitic accusations online
Sabrina Khan-Williams, a Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Team Leader/teacher at Tilden Middle School, has proudly come out as a vicious antisemite. In the last few days she openly posted horrific antisemitic statements, claiming that Israelis "harvest organs." If your child goes to Tilden MS, please be careful at that school.
She posted the following: "Palestinian's are being killed and their organs are being sold. How is real life scarier than movies??"
Ms. Khan-Williams also posted "Debunked!! No music festival attack. Babies were not burned. Women were not violated. Hospitals were attacked on purpose."
We reached out to the principal at Tilden Middle School and to Ms. Khan-Williams. As of this writing we have not heard back. While it is possible Ms. Khan-Williams' social media were hacked we understand MCPS leadership and the county council are taking these posts seriously.
How much longer will MCPS allow this vicious antisemitism in our school system?
Meanwhile, the Tuesday evening November 14th PTSA meeting has been cancelled.

BCC High School goes into lockdown after armed carjacking; police vague on whether carjacker is BCC student
BCC High School went into lockdown at about 2 p.m. on November 13. MoCo360 published a small amount information about the incident.

A “DEI teacher” and “team leader” at the Montgomery County, Maryland, public schools outside of D.C. has defended Hamas and pushed a frenzy of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories in recent weeks.
Sabrina Khan-Williams, the “team leader/diversity, equity & inclusion teacher” in the World Studies department of Tilden Middle School, contends in social media posts that Hamas’ paragliding attack on a rave was a hoax.
“Debunked!! No music festival attack. Babies were not burned. Women were not violated,” she wrote on Facebook.

Christopher Cram, a spokesman for MCPS, would not explain what the role of a “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Teacher” was, or how “inclusion” could encompass Khan-Williams’ comments. He did not condemn the rhetoric, and said parents and residents shouldn’t expect to hear any more on the issue.

Former Montgomery County teacher accused of having sex with 8th grader granted bond

Entire Loudoun Co. School Board replaced in elections

The entire Loudoun County School Board will be replaced in January following years of political dramatics and scandals in the school district.
Voters ousted the only two incumbents who ran for reelection, Harris Mahadevi (Ashburn) and Erika Ogedegbe (Leesburg).
Lauren Shernoff, an independent and former educator, beat democratic incumbent Ogedegbe in a liberal Leesburg district.
“I think it says that people are awake and paying attention to what’s going on locally and they’ve realized that local elections really do matter. They’ve realized that the people making decisions on the school board, it impacts their life. It impacts their children’s lives. It impacts their safety,” Shernoff said.

"Title VI’s protection from race, color, and national origin discrimination extends to students who experience discrimination, including harassment, based on their actual or perceived: (i) shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics; or (ii) citizenship or residency in a country with a dominant religion or distinct religious identity. Schools that receive federal financial assistance have a responsibility to address discrimination against Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, Christian, and Buddhist students, or those of another religious group, when the discrimination involves racial, ethnic, or ancestral slurs or stereotypes; when the discrimination is based on a student’s skin color, physical features, or style of dress that reflects both ethnic and religious traditions; and when the discrimination is based on where a student came from or is perceived to have come from, including discrimination based on a student’s foreign accent; a student’s foreign name, including names commonly associated with particular shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics; or a student speaking a foreign language.
"Harassing conduct can be verbal or physical and need not be directed at a particular individual. OCR interprets Title VI to mean that the following type of harassment creates a hostile environment: unwelcome conduct based on shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics that, based on the totality of circumstances, is subjectively and objectively offensive and is so severe or pervasive that it limits or denies a person’s ability to participate in or benefit from the recipient’s education program or activity. Schools must take immediate and effective action to respond to harassment that creates a hostile environment."

Code Ann., Educ § 9-104(d), we remand the matter to the local board and direct the board to grant contingent approval of the Appellant’s charter application and execute a contingent charter agreement consistent with our decision. We further direct the local board to extend the period for the Appellant to meet the contingencies until at least March 1, 2024. The charter agreement shall be executed within 30 days of the date of this decision. We further direct the parties to work together so that the Appellant can correct the deficiencies identified by the local board.3

Gaithersburg, MD - A former Montgomery County teacher has been arrested and charged with multiple sexual offenses for engaging in sexual acts with a minor. Detectives believe there may be additional victims.
On Thursday, October 5, 2023, the Montgomery County Department of Police - Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) initiated an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by an adult male victim. The victim alleges that he had engaged in sexual acts with 31-year-old Melissa Marie Curtis of Upper Marlboro, when he was a minor.
The alleged abuse began in 2015 when Curtis was 22-years-old. The incidents continued for several months while the victim was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School, and Curtis was a teacher at the same school. All of the incidents took place within Montgomery County.
A warrant for Melissa Curtis's arrest was obtained on Tuesday, October 31, charging her with sexual abuse of a minor and multiple counts of third and fourth-degree sexual offenses.
Curtis had been a teacher for approximately two years in Montgomery County and taught at Lakelands Park Middle School as well.
SVID detectives suspect that there may be additional victims and would like to speak with them. Detectives encourage potential victims to call 240-773-5400.
Curtis turned herself in on Tuesday, November 7, and is currently awaiting a bond hearing.

Board of Education President Karla Silvestre gives an incorrect statement in the article below implying that the Board of Education has purchased electric school buses.
In fact, the Board of Education does not own a single electric school bus.
Board of Education President Karla Silvestre was on the Board of Education when the Transportation Equipment Services Agreement was signed on behalf of the Board of Education. That agreement was for the use of electric school buses, not the purchase of electric school buses.
Why doesn't she know the terms of that Agreement?

I think we have about 130 electric school buses currently. Germantown Man Sentenced to 25 Years in Music Studio Shooting
...According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office (MCSAO), in Aug. 2020, Marvin Frazier, 24, shot a 19-year-old man at a music studio along Montgomery Village Avenue.
The victim became paralyzed from the waist down. Also, Frazier pistol-whipped a 20-year-old man. He fled and was apprehended last year.
Frazier and the victims are associated with rival gangs, according to MCSAO. According to charging documents, Frazier is a validated gang member of Black Mob and one victim is a validated member of the rival gang Hittsquad...

Arrest made in stabbing, beating death of 17-year-old Northwest High School senior
Police have arrested 17-year-old Ta'Quawn Henderson for the murder of Jailyn Jones. Police say the two teens went to the same high school.
...Police are still actively investigating this case and say they are still "following the evidence." While a motive is not known, police confirmed that the teens went to school together and knew each other and believe more people could be involved in the teen's death.
“We are very confident that Mr. Henderson has played a significant role in this homicide and he has been charged as such," Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones said. "We believe that there may be other contributing individuals involved in this investigation."
Jones's mother, Alexis McDaniel, has alleged that her son was a victim of bullying at Northwest High School.

EPA Testing Shows the Power of D-I-Y Air Filters to Trap Viruses
The results are in: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency research testing of do-it-yourself ‘Corsi-Rosenthal Box’ indoor air filters shows they are 99% effective in removing airborne virus. The 'Owl Force One' device tested by the EPA was built by UConn Indoor Air Quality Initiative researchers with Middletown, Connecticut public school children.
There is a low-cost way for you to protect yourself and reduce your risk of respiratory diseases such as flu, RSV, and COVID-19. Build yourself a Corsi-Rosenthal box (CR box) in 30 minutes with just $60 worth of common hardware store supplies.
In July, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency scientists began several weeks of advanced bioaerosol chamber testing to assess the efficacy and power of this air filter against infectious aerosols, like the virus that causes COVID-19. The results are in, and they are good.
The U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development’s 3,000 cubic ft. bioaerosol chamber testing results show that the CR box removes 97% of infectious aerosols in just 30 minutes, and 99.4% within 60 minutes. Importantly, the device successfully captures a surrogate virus for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

“The study results are extremely exciting,” says EPA’s Ratliff. “These CR boxes really work. The Corsi-Rosenthal box works against infectious aerosols in the air. The results are really powerful. CR boxes are more effective at reducing concentrations of infectious aerosols in indoor air than some of the more expensive technologies that we tested.”
“These scientific results are huge!” says Marina Creed, APRN, director of the UConn Indoor Air Quality Initiative. “These inexpensive, do-it-yourself air filters are for everyone. If you put this in your home, it will remove infectious germs that cause disease from the air. Schools, students, and teachers if you run one of these inside your classrooms it can reduce your exposure to viruses and bacteria, reducing the risk of disease transmission, meaning you are less likely to get sick.”..

Students Forced to Cope With Frequent Bomb Threats
Three emailed bomb threats to Montgomery Blair High School proved to be invalid, but not before police and school security spent time combing through the building and students lost class time sheltering in place or evacuating their school building.
Jack (MCM is not using the last names of any of the students) said he has difficulty getting out of bed to come to school in the morning.
When alerted to a recent possible bomb, Jack recalled, “I tensed up, and I froze. I texted my mom I love her.” While standing outside the McDonald’s on University Boulevard by his school Thursday, he added, “How cruel of him, out of nowhere to do it to us.”..
