When the Board of Education declares land surplus they hand it over to Montgomery County Government. The Board of Education gets nothing in return for handing over the land. Montgomery County Government has then been handing the land over to developers.
What does it mean that sites are "surplus"? Are they currently being used or are they "up for grabs" by, say, another school, for instance?
ReplyDeleteSurplus means they aren't in the public school inventory any more. Note the "conveyance date" on the chart.
ReplyDeleteWho are they conveyed to? Is there typically an exchange ?
