On July 7, 2011, the Board of Education reviewed two applications for charter schools in Montgomery County. During the discussion of the Crossway application Board of Education member Shirley Brandman noted that the reason she was prepared to vote for the Crossway application was because there would be no co-mingling of funds concerns with a private school operating in the same space as a MCPS charter school.
BOE member Brandman made clear that the "private school is going to close".
It's now 2013, and we know that didn't happen.
