Long-term trends in academic performance and spending are valuable tools for evaluating past education policies and informing current ones. But such data have been scarce at the state level, where the most important education policy decisions are made....full report at the link below...
I would suggest after looking at Maryland's growing per-pupil expenditure with no rise in SAT scores to look at how education funding is spent. Maryland has a very bad case of fraud and corruption and much money designated for classrooms never make it there and I think this chart shows this.
ReplyDeleteIf Maryland does not reinstate Rule of Law and rebuild its public justice and public oversight agencies, we will never improve public sector performance whether government function or citizen's/public achievement advances.
