"Although Starr will formally divorce himself from MCPS on Feb. 16, he'll continue to collect a paycheck through June 30. The superintendent, who earns an annual salary of $264,000, will make $97,104.18 during that time. Starr will also be paid $46,583 in unused vacation, sick and personal leave. His separation agreement will additionally keep him on MCPS' health insurance plan through Dec. 31, 2015, and cover up to $2,000 in attorney fees pertaining to his resignation. Lastly, Starr will be permitted to drive his county-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee until March 31."
By any measure, that's at least $100,000 in severance pay. Can he live on that?
