Amazing how history repeats itself. Perhaps a thorough investigation into all press accounts could be undertaken before hiring the next superintendent,
ReplyDeleteAgreed. A much better job needs to be done when vetting the next superintendent.
DeleteThe exceedingly high taxpayer funded salary that comes with this position means that the individual be vetted and that the public have input. The person needs to present a plan that includes how she or he will regain MCPS' image of being one of the nation's top school systems. It's too much money to pay not to get the very best.
We don't want someone to regain the "image" of MCPS being the best. We want someone to do the hard work of running the schools and improving their effectiveness. I don't give a hoot about the MCPS "image."
