18808 WARING STATION ROAD • GERMANTOWN, MARYLAND 20874 PHONE: 301-601-0344 • FAX: 301-601-0370 Office of the Principal Dear Parent/Guardian: I want to share with you information about two incidents that occurred at school and how these matters were handled by our staff. It was brought to our attention that a knife was found in a student's locker on Thursday, May 7, 2015 and a toy gun was on school property on Friday, May 8, 2015. Administration retrieved the knife from the student's locker and it was investigated by the Montgomery County Police Department. The police retrieved the toy gun from the home of the student. We do not believe either of the students intended to harm or frighten anyone, but both students will face appropriate consequences aligned to the MCPS Code of Conduct. Please remind your child that weapons of any type, including fake weapons, are not permitted at school. It is important that students feel safe at all times. I appreciate your help and support as we continue to maintain a safe and secure school environment. I wanted to make sure you were informed should you hear about the incidences in our community. We have seen a shakeup in the principal and Center coordinator position this summer. Is there a reason for this?
ReplyDeleteShe is a principal on special assignment in the Office of the Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Navarro. It's what they do to principals that need to be removed from the public eye, put them in protected administrative leadership positions. That way they can serve as role models for other principals. Only in public schools are failed leaders so protected by their unions that they are guaranteed their salaries while they sit in offices working on *special assignments*.
DeleteMrs. Barkley's departure was touted as a promotion but she was more than likely moved due to her administration's mishandling of the sexual predator groping students on her watch.
